SCUBA Diver Class – 2017 Fall Session

Congratulations to the 3rd Scuba Class of 2017 for completing their SCUBA Diver Course.

The group started their class in August, worked diligently through September, and performed their open water dives the weekend of September 30 and October 1, 2017 at Dutch Springs.

SCUBA Rescue Diver Class – 2017 Fall

FINS UP to Amanda, Bryan, Jay, and Marisa, for completing their NAUI Rescue Diver Course.

They started the class in early May and worked diligently through the summer. They developed a keen understanding of risk management and accident prevention.

They completed their open water dives on Sept 9, 2017.

SCUBA Rescue Diver Class – 2017 Summer

FINS UP to Ashley, Andy, Randy, Jennifer, Robert, and Larry for completing their NAUI Rescue Diver Course.

They started the class in early May and worked diligently through the summer. They developed a keen understanding of risk management and accident prevention.

They completed their open water dives on July 13, 2017.

Advanced Diver – June 2017

Fins up for Brett, Laura, Erica, Chris, Randy, Corey, John, and Scott, for dedicating countless hours, to hone their skills as divers to be certified as Advanced SCUBA Divers.

The group started their class in early April, worked diligently through the next few months, and performed their open water dives in June

Thanks to Uncle Richie for teaching the class, Dive Masters Rich and Jason for keeping everyone on track, and Amanda, Ashley, Bryan, and Tyler for acting as dive buddies, and providing logistical support.

Dry Suit Diver Class – Summer 2017

Congratulations to the 1st Dry Suit Class of 2017 for completing their Dry Suit Diver Course.

Arms up for Rich, Scott, Erica, Chris, and Amanda                 who began their course early on in May and then hit the water at Dutch Springs on June 11, 2016, to complete their training and certification process.

What’s with the arm up, well “it’s a dry suit diver thing!”

ERDI I – Diver & Tender Technician Class – Spring 2017

Congratulations to the Ryan Township and Schuylkill Haven Dive Teams for going the extra distance and completing ERD 1 Diver Training and Line Tender Technician Level Training.

The Group began their training late summer 2016, with in-depth academics, followed by swim testing, basic rescue skills, and cumulated with confined water dives the weekend of October 15, 2016.

 

The weekend of May 13th, 2017, the group hit the open water to move forward with their training to ERD I Technician Level Certification. They braved cold rain, dark skies, and ZERO visibility water; but they persevered to prove that they are truly dive professionals.

Congratulations to the Hemlock Farms, Bushkill, and Milford Fire Departments for going the extra distance and completing ERD Line Tender Operations Level Training.

The Group began their training late in the early part of March, with in-depth academics, followed by swim testing, basic rescue skills, and cumulated with confined water dives the weekend of March 18, 2017

Nitrox Divers – February 2017

Fins up for Carol and Tom  for completing her Nitrox Specialty Course, in Roatan, during our annual spring dive trip, the week of February 12, 2017

After focused study of gas laws and the physics of diving, they ventured to the warm waters of the Roatan to complete a series of dives using enriched air (nitrox)

 

Advanced Diver – February 2017

Master SCUBA Diver – Spring – 2017

Congratulations to the Janine G. NAUI Master Scuba Divers hold the highest recreational certification available as a non-professional diver.

Janine completed extensive academic training during December and January; hit the water in Roatan during our Spring Dive Trip; to complete 8 training dives and wrap up her certification process.

They completed their open water dives on June 4, 2016, in Dutch Springs

Tender Class – 2016

Congratulations to the Five Members of Dive Rescue Specialist (Scott Township) Dive Team for going the extra distance and completing Tender Training.

The Dive Team has always been a leader in the public safety dive community. This fall they opted to push themselves even further, by completing Tender Training.

While much of the course was very familiar to the team, some of the areas gave them additional skills needed to safely function as part of an OSHA and NFPA compliant public safety dive team.

Training began in October of 2015, with in-depth academics, followed by swim testing, basic rescue skills, and cumulated with open water dives on May 7, 2016, in Scott Township.

SCUBA Diver Class – 2016 Spring Session II

Congratulations to the 2nd Spring Scuba Class of 2016 for completing their SCUBA Diver Course.

Diver Masters – 2016

It is with great pleasure that we announce that Diver Dan and Rich G have successfully completed training and testing for their DIVE MASTER certification.

Dive Master training is the portal into the professional dive world. As a dive professional, you are expected to have an in-depth knowledge of diving physics, dive equipment mechanics, and health and wellness of divers.

Dive Master’s act as aids to certified instructors and as such undergo rigorous training both in the classroom and water to ensure that they have the highest level of confidence as a diver.

The group began their journey to Dive Master last year, and completed final testing the week of February 29 to March 4, 2016 at Lions Dive Resort Curacao.

Advanced Diver – March 2016

Fins up to our Winter Advanced Diver Class for dedicating countless hours, to hone their skills as divers.

The group started their class in early January, worked diligently through the next two months, and performed their open water dives

Nitrox Divers – February 2016

After focused study of gas laws and the physics of diving, The group completed a series of dives using enriched air (nitrox) the week on February 29, 2016 at Lions Dive Resort Curacao.

Mixed Gas Blender/ O2 Cleaning Technician

Fins up For Fred, who completed his NAUI Mixed Gas Blender and O2 Cleaning Technician.

The NAUI mixed Gas Blender and Oxygen Service Technician course provides you with the skills and knowledge needed to safely handle high pressure gases, prepare oxygen enriched air and helium-based mixtures, and prepare equipment for oxygen service.

Master SCUBA Diver – Fall – 2015

Congratulations to the Fall Master SCUBA Diver Class. NAUI Master Scuba Divers hold the highest recreational certification available as a non-professional diver.

Daryl completed extensive academic training during January and February; they hit the water at CoCoview Resort on Roatan in March; and then again on September 12th, in Northeastern Pennsylvania to complete 8 training dives and wrap up their certification process.

Master SCUBA Diver – Summer – 2015

Congratulations to the Summer 2015 Master SCUBA Diver Class. NAUI Master Scuba Divers hold the highest recreational certification available as a non-professional diver.

The class was comprised of divers from Tafton Dive Team, Thornhurst Dive Team, and the US Navy. They completed extensive academic training during May, June, and July; and then hit the water at Dutch Springs on July 25th and 26th to complete 8 training dives and wrap up their certification process.

Fins up to these dedicated public servants, who spent many hours mastering their skills. They truly are MASTERS of their profession.

ERDI I – Diver & Tender Class – 2015

Congratulations to the Germania Hose Company Dive Team for going the extra distance and completing ERDI 1 Diver and Dive Tender Training.

The Germania Dive Team has always been a leader in the public safety dive community. The team is very experienced in all areas of water rescue. But, this fall they opted to push themselves even further, by completing both EDRI I Diver and Tender Training.

While much of the course was very familiar to the team, some of the areas gave them additional skills needed to safely function as part of an OSHA and NFPA compliant public safety dive team in both the diver and tender roles.

Training began in April, with in-depth academics, followed by swim testing, basic rescue skills, and cumulated with open water dives on June 28 and 29, 2015.
